Rochester Opens, a d/b/a of Sniffy LLC, runs this site and the weekly email. This page says what we collect and what we do with it.
What we collect about subscribers
- What you enter when you sign up: name, work email, company, role and edition.
- When you agreed to get the email and the wording you agreed to.
- Your plan and the Stripe customer and subscription IDs. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Your preferences (counties, towns, sections), and who referred you, if anyone.
- Which weekly emails and alerts we sent you. Our email provider (Resend) may record delivery, opens and clicks.
We use this to send the email, run billing and answer you. We don't sell it or share it except with the services that run the product: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Resend (email) and Stripe (payments).
What's in the digest
The digest comes from public records. Liquor license, permit and zoning entries show the business or project name and the premises address. New business registrations show only the business name, town and date. We don't publish the names, home addresses or contact details of the people behind filings, permits or zoning applications, and we leave out records that are listed under a person's own name. Automatic web research looks up businesses, not people.
If your business is listed and you think something is wrong, email us and we'll look at it.
Your choices
Unsubscribe from any email with the link at the bottom. To have your subscriber record deleted, email us. We keep payment records as long as tax law requires.

The public site doesn't use tracking cookies or ads.
